• The application for membership of NSI shall be made in writing or through online application though the NSI Website (See “Become a Member) or shall be nominated for honorary membership by the Executive Committee.
  • The applications shall be considered by the Executive Committee and approve or disapprove as appropriate. However, approval of nomination of honorary members shall be made by the General Assembly.
  • Approval of Regular membership shall be based on possession of postgraduate certificate in Immunology or at least, four (4) publications in any aspects of immunology with the applicant being the first author in at least, two (2) of the publications. 
  • All considered applications shall be lodged with the Secretary of the Society.
  • Upon an application being approved by the Executive Committee, the Secretary shall notify the candidate in writing that he or she is approved for membership of the Society. Such person shall pay the sum payable as annual membership due within a period of 28 days after receipt of such notification of approval.
  • The Secretary shall, upon payment of the annual due, enter the applicant’s name in the register of members kept by him or her and, upon the name being so entered; the applicant becomes a member of the Society.
  • Should an application be disapproved, the Secretary shall notify the candidate in writing, stating reasons for disapproving the application for membership of the Society.
  • In the event of the Executive Committee disapproving the application, the applicant shall have the right of appeal by notice in writing to the Governing Board of the Society. Upon receipt of such notice, the Governing Board will consider the circumstances of the application and make its determination by majority vote.
